Certification Outline


This certification will test your knowledge of concepts related to Geology in GVERSE GeoGraphix at an intermediate level. Successful candidates are required to demonstrate their ability by creating, and displaying land, cultural and well data in a map view, petrophysical data and interpretation in log view. Creating and editing cross sections, picking tops, faults, and attribute intervals as well as 3D visualization of the developing surface model; creation and editing of gridded contour map from multiple sources, including Geomodeling surfaces, well data, map data, XYZ spreadsheet data and combined sources. Volumetrics are calculated on created grids and volumetric polygons. GVERSE Geomodeling is used to visualize map surfaces, well bores, map layers, and cross sections/fence diagrams in 3D. A final presentation map in GeoAtlas is essential to show all previous interpretations.
This certification includes the use of core GeoGraphix applications such as Project Explorer, GeoAtlas, WellBase and GVERSE Petrophysics, ZoneManager and GVERSE Geomodeling.

Success Criteria

Successful candidates are expected to have intermediary knowledge of GeoGraphix core applications and workflows required within the Geology Domain. The learning outcomes will be based on the following curriculum:

  • Opening and configuring GVERSE Geomodeling
  • Creating and interpreting cross sections in GVERSE Geomodeling
  • Managing formation tops and creating inter-well formation picks
  • Creating, picking and analyzing zone data in crossplot view using ZoneManager
  • Creating, managing and familiarization with 3D visualization of a surface model using GVERSE Geophysics
  • Creating and editing layers using GVERSE Geomodeling
  • Drawing and editing contour lines in an IsoMap layer
  • Working within Areas of Interest in GeoAtlas
  • Running curve data statistics and working with ZoneManager
  • Creating petrophysical property maps, and calculating volumetrics using GeoAtlas
  • Creating 3D visualization of surfaces and cross sections in GVERSE Geomodeling
  • Creating a final presentation map in GeoAtlas
